I'm One of THOSE Wives ... Again.

It's not a category any of us like, yet we get placed in it from time to time. There's nothing we can do about it, no matter how hard we try to fight it, voice it, etc.

I am a wife of a deployed Soldier again.

We knew when we took orders to move from Louisiana to here that it would be to a deploying brigade. We knew that, so we attempted to spend majority of our time here enjoying the time we knew we had left before the big "D Day". And we did! Which is a big reason as to why I've been off of the blogland for the last couple of months.

We set our house up

Went to a military ball

We celebrated our little man turning 3

And took a trip to Chicago/Michigan

The time seemed to go by quickly. We came home, tried to settle back in, only for the husband to head to work and be told he would be leaving the following week. I wish I could say that we went out and did marvelous things before he left again, but we didn't. We both got sick. We both had a touch of the flu, and then I got a sinus infection and literally the day before he left, sat in the urgent care for 4 hours (5 if you add pharmacy waiting time) to be told I had pink eye. Definitely not the way we wanted to say our goodbyes, but we dealt with the cards we given and made the best of the situation.

The night before the husband left, we made up a kisses jar.
I counted out exactly 365 Hershey kisses for the year deployment and put them in a jar.

See all those prescriptions? My idea of fun!

Every night before the kiddo goes to bed, he will get a "kiss" from Daddy.

There are moments that my heart breaks a bit more than usually. Like when our son expectedly looks to the window when Daddy should be home for lunch or from work and he's not there. Or when I tell him it's time for a "kiss" from Daddy and he runs expectantly looking for him to be there to give him a kiss.

First of all, you looked gorgeous for the milarity ball...I love your hair.

Secondly, I had no idea your hubs was getting deployed again. I'm sorry. My hubs can get on my nerves & drive me bat sh*t crazy but I couldnt ever imagine having to go without him next to me at night. You are a way stronger woman than I am. I love the 'Kiss Jar' idea, so freaking cute! I think you should have made yourself one too :)

I'm sorry! My husband's first deployment to Iraq lasted a whopping 16 months - I totally know what you're going through.

Kisses from Daddy is such a great idea, it brought a tear to my eye. Big hugs from Michigan!

Ashley I just cried. Boo on you! I am so so sorry he has deployed again, it seems so soon and so unfair. I feel like there is this cycle with my friends, one husband returns home and another leaves, the other husband returns home and then that one leaves. : / I love the kisses jar and while I love seeing you blog again (WOOHOO) I am sad to know your husband isn't there with you right now.

If you need some lovin' I'm just over here in Texas we could always plan for a trip. :)

girl i'm right there with you. jayson has been gone for 2 months and has 4 to go. i couldn't imagine going a whole year, with just two weeks in the middle of it, without jayson. 6 months is hard enough. this is our 4th deployment and he was only home 9 months between deployment #3 and deployment #4. we moved here to japan during those 4 months as well.
sorry i turned that into being about me. hope your year goes by quickly and the R&R goes by slowly!
