Oklahoma!

I hate going forever between blog postings. Life has gotten a bit busier than what it used to be. Right now I should be doing math homework BUT I'm putting it off for a few minutes to type this blog!

So, my husband has been gone for a minute in Oklahoma.  Since I basically got a four-day break with Labor Day, I decided to go and see him for the weekend.  The 8&1/2 hr drive there taught me that I'm getting asking for a dvd player to be installed in my car for the holidays.  The portable dvd player we have just doesn't cut it when the kidlet's feet are able to kick it. We all (kiddo, Diesel & I) made it in one piece, thankfully :)

Saturday was spent with running a couple of errands and then coming back to watch Michigan's opening game of the season against UConn. We happened to kick a little tail :)  Sunday morning we got up, ate breakfast and then headed out to see the bison and eat at a place called Meers. I kept talking the bison up to the kiddo on Saturday and most of Sunday morning. We drove through and saw a few.  We also saw a tarantula crossing the road. *my skin just crawled* I'm not going to lie, I totally freaked out. Don't those things belong in cages? So creepy.  Well, we typed in the direction for Meers into our TomTom and my husband refused to drive through the wildlife refuge twice. He just didn't want to see the same things twice. So, as we start driving a little bit out of the way to essentially double-back, I'm frustrated because he won't just turn around and then the kid starts saying, "Where's the bison?!" That's when I turned around and said, "Sorry kiddo, you only get to see the bison once. We'll look at pictures online.  Trust me, it's the same." The  husby knew I was right and just started to laugh.  We were lucky enough to see a big herd of them when we double-backed.

He said he could hear the ocean :)

Someone got lucky that we were able to see more bison.

After lunch, we headed back to the hotel room to freshen up for my date with Caitlin and her husband. To say that I had fun would not even begin to explain how awesome I think Caitlin is (&Cliff, too!). When I got to Okla on Friday, the husby kept reminding me of my approaching date with Caitlin. He had met them for dinner twice, so this meet up was no sweat to him. Myself, on the other hand, I felt like I was gearing up for a blind date and was so nervous! Like, butterflies in my stomach nervous. Anyhoo, our date was -awesome-, besides the kidlet making dinner a nightmare.  Totally our fault. We always let him excuse himself from the table if he doesn't want to eat and go play.  Yeah, that doesn't work so well in a restaurant while trying to eat. BUT he redeemed himself when we stopped at this awesome frozen yogurt place.  He got to play and run around and was his adorable, lovable self.

Yes, you can hire my husband for his photography skillz

This is my favorite picture, ever.

Sadly, I had to pack the kiddo, dog and myself up on Monday morning and drive back to Lousyana. I was so sad. I know Ft. Sill gets a bad rap BUT if people HAD to live in a town that you have to drive 50 miles to get a steak dinner or to be able to shop at Tar-jay/a mall, you learn to appreciate what a city does offer instead of what it doesn't offer. When I say that the only thing this town offers is a Super Walmart, I'm not kidding. SO, I tweeted :

True story!

I had an amazing Labor Day weekend! And I promise to write a little more often :)

That picture of the bison is so cool. Must have been interesting to see. However, I would have not been too thrilled to see the tarantula. Ugh. I live in AZ and they have creepy bugs/animals. I haven't seen on of those yet and hope not too.

but it sounds like you had a great labor day weekend!

Ewwww, tarantula crossing the road! I couldn't live there happily just because of that. HATE spiders. Especially giant fuzzy ones...

OMG... Lousyana. It's been so long since I've heard that, haha! (We call it that in my family 100% of the time, and I completely feel your pain.)

I'm glad you guys had so much fun!

Glad you had a good time friend! It's good to know that Fort Sill isn't that bad, we almost lived there!

You can live there happily until you get robbed and shot at. Ft. Sill is forever on my sh*t list.
